@julian_voelcker The best shooting platform mate, been using quads sticks for years

Bank Holliday project, making up some #pauperflex quad sticks thanks to an ingenious Rory Gafney on The Stalking Directory that makes up these kits that can either use cheap garden poles or carbon fibre ones. I usually use trigger sticks that are great when sat up in the corner of a field using a caller, etc, but with more stalking on the horizon I need to get my head around using quad sticks

Have to say I’m disgusted with the American fans at the @rydercup I always thought golf was a gentleman’s game. The way @McIlroyRory has been treated today, let me remind all the Americans how much tax he pays in America every year!

@RacingPost @leemottershead Absolute rubbish the racecourses do a better job of the ground this time of year than some in the winter. Nobody can afford to stop working for 2 months either.

We all want to race, but this we will race no matter what is a out dated view of things. I keep on saying it, but if we keep on racing in Unraceable conditions it’s a time bomb till something happens. Let’s gets sensible about things if not fit call it off @BHAHorseracing

Plumpton's clerk of the course Marcus Waters has apologised for the abandonment of racing. "We had seven millimetres of rain in just under two hours," Waters said at 10.30am. "We were forecast five millimetres all the way until noon, and the course is just starting to deteriorate. "We were left with no other option other than to abandon. We'll talk to the BHA about rescheduling the Sussex National, the timings of it can be tricky but we'll have that conversation, but we're sorry for all participants who have travelled and are on their way – we were raceable at 8.30am but the forecast went against us."

@ptaylor217 Excellent. I haven't been keepering this year, miss it, but loving having weekends back although ramping up other shooting to compensate. Been doing a fair bit of beating with family on friends' shoots and managed a couple of days on the peg myself, even started to hit some 🤣
