Back with another Laravel Queue article. This one covers rate limiting: what Laravel gives you out of the box, and how to build adaptive throttling when your queues are under real pressure.

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined @laravelphp as an Engineering Team Lead 🎉 Laravel has been influential throughout my career, and I’ve long admired the team’s commitment to developer experience and craftsmanship. It’s an honour to now be part of the team and contribute to the tools and systems that so many developers rely on. I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic team, helping shape the products they build, and continuing to push things forward. Grateful for the opportunity — and excited for what’s ahead.

We'll probably be done with Laravel soon too. When I say "soon", I mean the next 2-3 years. I've been thinking about this for a while as well. AI is getting better and faster, quickly. And if inference speed follows, no project will be worth using external dependencies.

A $10k MRR SaaS loses $55 every time queues fail for 4 hours. Most Laravel SaaS founders have no idea how much money they're losing to silent queue failures. The average notice time is 12+ hours. That's $165 gone. Per incident. 3x per year = $495 minimum. I built a calculator to show you the actual dollar amount at risk in your business. [ Link in first comment 👇]

Job Batching Internals: How Laravel tracks state, handles partial failures, and the undocumented limitations Laravel's job batching feature, introduced in version 8, allows you to dispatch a collection of jobs and execute callbacks when all jobs complete. The API is elegant Bus::batch() accepts an array of jobs and returns a fluent builder. But beneath this simplicity lies a state management system with behaviors that surprise even experienced developers. [ Link in the first comment 👇 ]
