Missing the key point here of wellbeck preventing the release of the ball. At 0:11 Raya goes to kick the ball but wellbeck is still in his peripheral vision and obviously obstructs Raya to prevent the quick release. If Raya kicked the ball at 0:11 he would have held the ball for exactly 7 seconds before being released.

The 8 second rule doesn't apply to David Raya apparently. 🤭
