My ranking for worst things to be faced with after boarding a flight is now : 1. Horde of 14 year olds on a school trip 2. Stag / hen party already hammered by mid morning 3. Highjacker

@jabberwock951 The facial hair choice really does fit the role though. Perfect moustache to twirl while scheming

I dont understand what the unique selling point is meant to be between locum agencies. I get emails from 5 agencies all quoting the same rate for the same dates in the same locations. How do they even compete other than hooking people early and relying on people hating change?

Is the vibe in real life UK medicine remotely close to that found on X and Reddit?

Send out a Google Form asking for roster requests for the next term and give a 3 week window to return it. I can now graph the distribution of Type A staff that immediately completed it and the Type B (majority of) staff who left it til 10 minutes before the deadline.

I'm amazed by doctors that call their patients and tell them "your bloods show something wrong you need to go to ED right now" but also dont tell the patient or the ED what the abnormality is. I really love random fishing expeditions

@maffygirl In that vein, my cousin had Malignant Hyperthermia as a child. That part of the family chose to just ignore it, not mention it to anyone else, and not get any testing sorted for the wider family. They left the big reveal until 20 years later.

Do all the GPs keep their ‘Big Pharma’ holidays a secret? There’s definitely none for hospital doctors 😂😂😂😂
Steven Fosbrook@FosbrookSteven

@A1an_M £10.06 for sticking a needle in someones arm. Plus all the holidays they get from big pharma for using their products and the bottles of whiskey etc. Poor buggars.

I could get an extra 3 weeks of leave from work every 2 years if I competed in a sport at World Championship level?! Finally the incentive i've needed to end my decades long dirty bulk.

SA has the lowest number of medical staff per capita in all of Australia... we urgently need a medical workforce strategy to address this gap and plan for the future. @PictonChris I'm sure QLD, VIC, NSW or TAS could share a copy of theirs to help get you started. Please & thanks

@drraja_ So if you have a two dr family you should be treated differently to a one dr house with a partner who may work full time and have unsociable hours…. Get a grip.. dr’s with dr partner have no more right to good working conditions than a one dr household #entitled

A resident doctor who moved to Australia told me that their hospital offered him rota match with his wife who is also a doctor. Their duty hours, weekends & holidays can be matched without the stress of asking for swaps or if you have childcare responsibilities, they can have automatic adjustments accordingly. Just a small thing for improving wellbeing In UK, resident doctor may have to deal with additional stress of trying to adjust rota with partner & for childcare.
