Lemme bite… As a “community elder” (even though you don’t place yourself on that pedestal, there are youngins that put you there as a “look up to”), there is a certain way you must address issues like this. When you’re bitten by a snake, you don’t remove focus from the bite and attack the snake for biting. You go through every pain and moment till you’re rid of the venom - same way you don’t tell people how to react to grave insensitivity that took a direct jab at the community. It will be your responsibility to either stay silent after your first 2 tweets regarding this, or if you must keep tweeting about it, don’t stop taking accountability and apologizing on Kachi’s behalf and yourself too.

PRESS RELEASE LAGOS STATE DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGENCY RESPONDS TO REPORTED CASE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN FESTAC The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) is aware of a widely circulated video on social media involving a survivor of alleged Domestic Violence identified as @anniesglowlagos on TikTok. Following the report, the Agency promptly established contact with the survivor and ensured that the case was formally reported to the appropriate authorities. Preliminary findings confirm that the incident, which occurred on Saturday, 21 March 2026, was reported at the FESTAC Police Station Tactical Squad and is currently being handled by the Family Support Unit (FSU), FESTAC Police Station. The survivor alleged that her estranged partner physically assaulted her, resulting in severe injuries, including the loss of a finger. The alleged perpetrator was apprehended and the matter has been diligently investigated by law enforcement authorities. On 25th March 2026, the case was charged to court at Court 6, MBA Ajegunle. The accused has since been remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further proceedings. Bail was granted in the sum of ₦200,000 with two sureties, and the next court hearing has been scheduled for 29th April 2026. The survivor has also been referred for psychosocial support to aid her recovery and well-being. The Lagos State Government maintains zero tolerance for all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and urges members of the public to speak up and report incidents.
