The 2nd Quarter “Scavenger Hunt” will be a special event involving GoFest Chicago 2026! Only those Trainers that are attending GoFest or live in Chicago will be able to participate. Unlike the 1st Quarter hunt, this one will be more like a traditional scavenger hunt. Here are the details: The event will start on Thursday (4 June 26). The event will cover each day of GoFest Chicago. Starting on that Thursday, I will post a riddle in the form of a “Quatrain” whose solution or answer will point you to a specific Chicago landmark that has a Pokéstop or Gym associated with it. I carefully selected these stops to give you a great view of the city or provide a unique selfie opportunity (y’all know I love selfies)! Once you solve the riddle, locate to landmark (Pokéstop/gym) spin it and collect the postcard and keep it in your gifts inventory. Then you will have to wait for the next riddle that I will post on the next day (so one each riddle per day…Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). There are four total riddles (one each day) that you will have to solve and collect. It is IMPORTANT that you DO NOT post your answers as a reply to the riddle tweet…if you do, you could help your competitors beat you to the prize! Finishing up on Sunday, I will set up a meet and greet in a central location near or within Grant Park. Those who think they have solved each riddle and have the postcards from the landmark’s Pokéstops/Gyms will have to come find me and show me each postcard in their inventory. The first person to do this will win the scavenger hunt (just like actual hunts). What will you win? This will be a custom jersey awarding event! It will look like one of the jerseys below (sorry, I don’t have a picture of the Valor version but it will be similar to the two below). As an example for you to see how the quatrains will look and read, try your luck on this one below. It (just like the four for the event) represents and points you to an actual stop in Chicago! Please feel free to solve this one and post your reply. “Along the shimmering edge where water meets the land, A vibrant stretch extends its arms of steel and light, Above where flyers landed, a great circle turns slowly evermore, A mural where laughter rides the waves into the glittering night.”

Today’s final “Honorable” mention is from Trainer KingDeoxysTR (@kingdeoxys_tl50) in Turkey 🇹🇷! This postcard showcases a mural based on the popular Bollywood movie "3 Idiots" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_Idiots). The mural is located in Trabzon Merkez (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trabzon). It features two of the film's lead characters, Farhan Qureshi (played by R. Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (played by Sharman Joshi), in their iconic classroom poses. It captures the essence of the film's core message, which is written in the background: "CHASE EXCELLENCE, SUCCESS WILL FOLLOW..". This quote is a central theme of the movie, famously delivered by the character Rancho (Aamir Khan), who advocates for pursuing passion and capability over rote learning and societal pressure. The background includes a large ruler and hand-drawn doodles, mimicking a chalkboard or notebook, which fits the film's setting at the fictional Imperial College of Engineering (ICE). The film is a satire of the Indian education system and remains one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. It was directed by acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajkumar_…). As of 2026, reports indicate that a highly anticipated sequel with the original cast is in development.

Today’s fourth “Honorable” mention is from Trainer Pumpkabooboom (@Pumpkaboo09) in Switzerland 🇨🇭! This postcard showcases a utility box mural in Geneva (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva). It is a large-scale reproduction of a classical 17th-century portrait of the famous French playwright Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known as Molière (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molière). Molière (1622–1673) was a celebrated French actor and master of Western comedy known for plays like Tartuffeand The Misanthrope. The source painting was created by Pierre Mignard (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Mi…) around 1658, which captures Molière in a pensive, noble pose with long curly hair and a fine mustache. He is depicted in a characteristic red coat (loose-fitting gown) over a white shirt with an open collar and pleated cuffs. The pose, with his hand near his face and a quill or writing instrument in hand, symbolizes his life's work as a dramatist and philosopher. Mignard and Molière were close friends after meeting in Avignon. The original oil painting is held in the collection of the Musée Condé at the Château de Chantilly in France (chateaudechantilly.fr).

Today’s third “Honorable” mention is from Trainer MrsMurphy311 (@Mrs31111) in Texas, 🇺🇸! This postcard showcases a veteran-inspired mural, titled "No Greater Love”. It was painted by artist Dace Kidd (dacekidd.com) for the Legends Fit Gym (legends.fit) in Rockwall (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockwall,…). The mural features a bald eagle holding a shield with an American flag pattern, centered around a soldier wearing a helmet and goggles. This artwork is part of the gym's commitment to the military community, as they are known for offering specialized discounts and 24/7 access for veterans and active-duty members. Dace Kidd is a classically trained contemporary artist and muralist originally from Riga, Latvia, now based in Tyler, Texas. Known professionally as Mural Artist TX, she has established a significant presence across the state with her large-scale public and private works. Dace’s artistic journey began at age six, influenced by her father, a jeweler. She attended specialized art schools in Latvia before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia. She spent two years in Palermo, Italy, studying the Italian masters and traditional mural painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti. She relocated to the United States in 2011, restarting her career in East Texas. Dace describes her style as eclectic, ranging from realism and portraiture to abstraction and pop art. She often incorporates bold colors and "photo-op" elements designed for public interaction. Beyond murals, she is an accomplished portrait artist and studio painter, regularly exhibiting her work in galleries across Tyler and Dallas.

Today’s second “Honorable” mention is from Trainer MikeyTheButcher (@MikeyTheButchr1) in Australia 🇦🇺! This postcard showcases a graffiti style inspirational mural in Woolloongabba, Queensland (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolloong…). The mural is a multi-layered production that features a combination of bold graffiti lettering, character work, and uplifting messaging. It is a classic example of a collaborative production, where multiple artists blend their distinct "styles" (individual letterforms and character designs) into a single cohesive mural. The mural's focal point is the phrase "GOOD THINGS," rendered in a large, vibrant graffiti style with 3D effects, gradients, and thick outlines. At the bottom, a yellow banner carries the completing sentiment: "ARE COMING”. A positive theme which aims to convey "kind, helpful" messages to the community. Above the text, you can see the silhouettes of two figures facing each other, set against a circular backdrop that resembles a moon or sun. A winged heart or stylized bird motif sits directly above the central lettering. Tropical foliage and colorful abstract shapes fill the background. The artwork was created by Brisbane-based street artists Drapl, Treas, and Leans: - Travis “Drapl” Vinson (instagram.com/drapl?igsh=ZWd…): A veteran of the Brisbane street art scene for over 23 years, known for large-scale murals on urban buildings, grain silos, and water towers across Australia. - Leans (instagram.com/ontheleans?igs…): A prominent Brisbane artist whose public works often feature a unique blend of abstract and graphic styles, frequently created in partnership with fellow artists. - Treas (no social media link): An active figure in the Australian graffiti community, often collaborating with Drapl and Leans on high-energy, multi-layered productions. ⭐️ for a professional sticker pairing!

Today’s first “Honorable” mention is from Trainer lisakhuynh (@lisaplayspogo) in California, 🇺🇸! This postcard showcases a Chinese dragon mural in San Francisco's Chinatown at the corner of Trenton Street and Pacific Avenue. It features a vibrant blue dragon with yellow accents, designed to appear as if it is coiling through the wall. The mural was sponsored in part by the San Francisco Arts Commission (sfartscommission.org) StreetSmArts Program, which aims to reduce graffiti by replacing it with community-focused murals. While the mural postcard title shares its name, the iconic architectural "Dragon Gate" entrance to Chinatown is actually located at the intersection of Bush Street and Grant Avenue.  It was painted in 2011 by Wes Wong (facebook.com/WesWongWithYou/) and artist Wes “Lost One” Marks (no social media link). The artists are associated with Fresh Paint, a San Francisco-based mural company specializing in aerosol wall painting.

Today’s Daily Pick is from Trainer teganussi (@NussTega) in Germany 🇩🇪! This postcard showcases a mural titled “Die Luschernde" (The Peeping One), located in Bremen. The piece is a collaborative work by the artists Akut (instagram.com/akut_herakut?i…) and Markus “WOW123” Genesius (instagram.com/markus_wow123_…). It features a fusion of photorealism and abstract geometric patterns, two distinct styles that represent the individual artists' backgrounds.  The central element is a highly detailed, monochrome face of a woman, which is a signature of the artist Akut (Falk Lehmann). Her intense expression and lifelike features are intended to draw the viewer into the piece. Overlaid and integrated into the face are colorful geometric shapes derived from the television test pattern(specifically the FuBK pattern). This is a recurring motif for Markus Genesius, who uses it to bridge the gap between traditional graffiti and abstract contemporary art. The test pattern serves as a "nostalgic icon" of a slower media era. In Genesius's work, it often represents the transition from reality (represented by the photorealistic face) to technical abstraction and the "imaginary lines" of broadcast media. The mural is located on a brick building at Osterdeich 70 along the Weser River. Its name, "Die Luschernde," refers to the woman's "peeping" gaze, as she appears to be watching the many soccer fans and pedestrians who pass by on their way to the Weserstadion (weserstadion.de). About the artists: - Akut: One half of the world-renowned street art duo Herakut, known for combining gritty, expressive storytelling with photorealistic portraits. - Markus Genesius (WOW123): A pioneer of the Bremen graffiti scene since the 1990s, he is internationally recognized for his "Urban Minimalism" that incorporates broadcasting signals and test cards into large-scale murals.

🚨#BREAKING: Watch as additional footage from earlier during the Tornado Emergency shows a violent tornado passing dangerously close to multiple people filming as it strikes near or at Vance Air Force Base in Enid Oklahoma. Dozens of reports indicate numerous buildings have been flattened, with cars violently thrown through the air as the tornado rips through the area. This is an extremely dangerous and destructive storm unfolding in real time.
