Well, I guess that's me missing not 1, not 2, but 326 AWS AI launches I did notice so many OpenAI, a couple of Google, Microsoft, Meta and Antrophic ones. And a massive Apple one. Feels to me Amazon is far behind all of these companies with AI, regardless what stats they show

I mean, it's funny. I've also literally had this experience of waking up to a user just to press the Power button on their computer. But it's not really their fault. That's why we have IT in the first place.

Or perhaps: it's literally the IT people's job to figure out what's actually wrong. This process of digging down on the real issue only works if you *know* how it works. And most users of most things don't, and shouldn't have to. It's not irrational, it's (justifiably) ignorant.

The reason IT support people are so bitter is that YOU (I mean YOU) cannot rationally describe the problem: You: The Internet is down IT: How do you know the Internet is down? You: I can't get email. IT: Is it possible that the email servers are down and the Internet is working just fine? Can you visit Twitter on your browser? You: Yes, I can visit the twitter website. IT: Is there any reason other than email to believe the Internet is down? You: The last time I couldn't get email it was because the Internet was down. The fact that IT doesn't call you a blithering idiot on every support call demonstrates saintly restraint, even if a little bit of their frustration leaks through.
