@theoceanblooms What does water "wasted" even mean tho? The cow drinks it? It urinates it out latwr and it returns to the water cycle. The grass that fed it? Most of that is rain water, and again, returns to the water cycle. Water isnt "destroyed". It constantly cycles through.

I just listened to the James Talarico interview. Never would’ve heard it otherwise without the FCC chaos. These were his very last words: “They want us talking about furries and bathrooms so we don’t realize that they are picking our pockets, that they are closing our schools, they are gutting our healthcare, and they are raising taxes on all of us while they cut taxes for their billionaire donors. The culture wars are a smoke screen because the real fight in this country is not left versus right; it’s top versus bottom.” Again, the Republicans are going to have to do a whole lot better than “Vote for us because we’re not the left.”

@fagmyer @Unpop_Science @widar01 @2Philosophical_ Nature is a meaningless category which incorrectly equates biological origin w/ moral goodness, ignoring everything from viruses to skyscrapers. & Yes, technically everything exists within the laws of nature if we’re getting real granular about it.

Meat without suffering, at scale, would be an amazing development — and would be universally recognized as such once everyone got past the irrational “this isn’t natural” response (as if naturalness in that particular sense were morally relevant).
