To HAVE and To HOLD. A thread 📕 I never truly understood the meaning of this until yesterday after watching a stand up comedy performance by a man named Mark. What does it mean to have? Let me give an illustration. Say, you have a phone. It's yours.

THE MONOLOGUE (A person. Alone. Talking to someone who is no longer there.) I keep forgetting. That’s the thing nobody warned me about. I’ll be doing something completely normal, eating, or washing plates, or just sitting and for one second I forget. I actually forget and then I remember again and the remembering is worse than the forgetting. Every single time. (beat) I picked up my phone yesterday to call you. I had the phone in my hand, I was already thinking about what I was going to say and then I remembered. Just like that. I put the phone down and I sat there and I thought, how long is this going to keep happening? How long before my body understands what my head already knows? (beat) People keep telling me you’re in a better place. I don’t care about a better place. I care about this place, I care about here. You were supposed to be here.
