Renfrewshire Referees

A reminder that the Annual General Meeting of Renfrewshire Referees' Association will take place on Monday 7th April 2025 at the conclusion of the members’ meeting. The members meeting will be held at UWS Paisley in Room D128 and on Zoom at 7pm.

The SFA will be holding a regional training day for referees category 4-7 on 18th May 2025 at ORIAM/Heriot Watt University. Can any member interested in attending please let Joe know to have your name added to the list of attendees.

Our next Members' Meeting will take place on Monday 10th March at 7.00pm, at the usual place of University of the West of Scotland Paisley Campus in Room D128. We will also hold the meeting on Zoom for those of you unable to attend in person.

Congratulations to our members Alastair Taylor and Jamie Andrews on their mid season promotions. Alastair has been promoted to SAR Select whilst Jamie has been promoted to SAR Development.

Congratulations to our members Ryan Kennedy, Liam MacDougall, Adam Holley and Barry Cook who were recently appointed to an under 18s international schools friendly between Scotland and Australia at New Western Park, Renfrew.

along with the usual meeting business and your attendance is encouraged if you are able to make it. The link to access the meeting on Zoom has been emailed to all members.

Our next members' meeting will take place next Monday 13th January 2025 at 7pm. As normal, the meeting will be held at UWS Paisley in Room D128 and also run on Zoom for those unable to attend in person. The meeting will consist of the coaching slot from our Category 1 referees

Well done to our to member Tam Stewart who was part of a team of volunteers who prepared and delivered Christmas meals and hampers to homes on Christmas Day giving back to the Paisley community.

As the temperatures are to drop further and the fog remains an issue - especially for those travelling - we've decided to cancel training this evening.

A webinar will take place on Tuesday 12th November from 7pm to 8 to assist referees in the use of the new COMET system. The webinar will take place on the Microsoft Teams platform and will be available to all referees. If you wish to attend please get in touch.

Congratulations to our members David Dickinson and Alastair Taylor on there appointments to the UEFA Youth League game between AZ Alkmaar and Stromsgodset on Wednesday 6th November.

The Fitness Test for all referees at Cat 4 and Cat 4 Development will be held at Renfrew Leisure Centre on Tuesday 12th November 2024, commencing at 7.00pm. Any referee who is aspiring to go onto the Senior List may do the test to measure their fitness and targets.

The SFA will be running an Assistant Referees Seminar on Saturday 26th October 2024 between 9am and 1130am at Hampden Park. This seminar will add the skills and knowledge of being an assistant referee, delivered by the highest qualified coaches, to your game.
