@repelfurb Yeh ofc , me personally I never got beat but still had fear of messing up in a good way. It works differently for different kids but I’m more so talking about the more extreme but still common beatings over a single mistake etc

The most baffling method of teaching. Why allow the child to associate the most beautiful words of Allah with pain , fear and punishment. To learn the Quran is to act upon it and contemplate it. not read it out of obligation and fear. Carries such a nasty stigma

@Azosc02 My take is a bit more nuanced. From experience, I mostly got leathered for mischief and discipline. In that kind of dynamic of ustaad to student a certain amount of fear can breed respect.
How you choose to implement it is completely optional. Call me a bit more old school.

Ofcourse there's exceptions but generally women don't stress over big mahr, it's just an online (or usa) thing mostly
They're cool with sunnah, and if you can't even do (highly suggest that you do) that they'll still be content because they see the man himself as the investment
