grouping all everest summits as selfish is not woke, it’s just being not fully informed. mountaineering achievements, including everest summits, have been triumphs in human accomplishments.

i don’t fully agree but i DO THINK there needs to be a strict testing process that one needs to pass in order to be seen as fit enough to try climbing the mountain — for example having other summits in their resume. AND A CONTRACT AND FEE to bring back their trash.

another: climbing mount everest is incredibly selfish and we need to shame these ppl more. not only can you die, you can take other ppl with you. it’s terrible for the environment, exploitative of the sherpas, all for a mountain that wants to kill you every second you’re on it
