Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the 100 Level Faculty of Agriculture orientation at the Federal University Lokoja, and I didn’t expect it to impact me the way it did. At some point, I sat quietly observing the students and wondering, “What could be going on in their minds?” Especially knowing that many of them may not have directly applied for this path. Life really takes different turns, and sometimes you only realize it when you pause and reflect. One of the highlights was a session on biotechnology, agricultural policy, and science communication. Which was anchored by a representative from @OFABnigeria , Dr. Rose Gidado. It was refreshing to see these conversations introduced at such an early stage. Resistant seed varieties were even planted at the end of the session which is a simple, but powerful reminder that innovation in agriculture must move from theory to practice. It made me realize something deeply. Agriculture is no longer just about planting and harvesting. It is science, communication, strategy and policy. And if we truly want progress, these areas must work together. Sometimes you attend an event thinking you’re just there to observe. But you leave realizing you were being reminded of your purpose. And yesterday reminded me why I care so much about the future of sustainable agriculture. #MissAgriculture
