This image breaks me. At 2.7 degrees of warming, which is our present policy trajectory, two billion people will be exposed to extreme heat. 99.7% of those people live in the global South. People who have done nothing to cause this crisis. The injustice is staggering.

@ethashamahmed @AstroMikeMerri I love myself an in-person lecture with dynamic discussions. We can't deny the inclusivity online lectures have brought, the fact that students can record and revise, from the comfort of their bed. It has removed the monopoly of 'strict' lecturers which is personally satisfying.

@AstroMikeMerri During my time at uni I didn't find lectures as they are engaging enough. I think embracing technology could lead to a great solution. Record what is currently covered in lectures. And turn lecture time into seminars where students can come to discuss specific topics or problems

We are dying inside. Lectures used to be the beating heart of universities, their raucous atmosphere giving way to hush emphasising a collegiate enterprise. Technology has killed them as a way to deliver content, with nothing replacing the crucial subtext that they provided.
