OFFICIAL FLAG-OFF CEREMONY OF MUCHIA BABBAN TITI ROAD CONSTRUCTION, SABON GARI LOCAL GOVERNMENT, KADUNA STATE Today marks a significant milestone in the development of Sabon Gari Local Government as we officially flag off the construction of the Mucia Babban Titi Road and its drainage system. This project is aimed at facilitating the smooth movement of people and goods, enhancing connectivity, and improving the overall standard of living within the community. The newly constructed road will play a crucial role in boosting the local economy by providing better access for residents and businesses, thereby adding value to properties in the area. My commitment to infrastructure development remains unwavering, as I continue to prioritize initiatives that foster economic growth and improve the livelihoods of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency residents. Regardless of political affiliations, I call on all stakeholders to unite and contribute to making Sabon Gari a beacon of progress. The construction of this road marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the community, and I believe it will positively impact the lives of all residents. Community and religious leaders, along with political groups and other stakeholders, have expressed their deep gratitude for this landmark project, the first of its kind in Mucia Ward. Today, I was honored to receive a delegation of leaders from Unguwan Gwaiba, led by the Executive Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Council and accompanied by the District Head of Basawa, The Village Heads of Basawa and Bomo and other respected personalities. The purpose of the visit is to express their appreciation for the petition I recently laid to the House, regarding the long-standing land dispute between the community and the Nigerian Army's 11 Field Engineer Regiment in Basawa. I am immensely grateful for their visit, It is heartening to see the community actively engaged in resolving this contentious issue and acknowledging my efforts in this regard. Their support only strengthens my resolve to serve our constituency with unwavering dedication. I assure them, and the entire community of Unguwan Gwaiba, that I am fully committed in resolving this land dispute. I would like to extend my well wishes to the delegation, as they embark on their journey back home. I pray to Allah SWT for their safe return, and may the spirit of harmony and cooperation prevail as we navigate through the complexities of this issue together. Hon. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to support the students of our constituency and alleviate their financial burdens. It fills my heart with joy to be able to make a meaningful impact on their educational journey. Yesterday, I had the privilege of holding the first interface meeting between the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the House Committee on FERMA as Deputy Chair. It was a crucial meeting that brought together key stakeholders in the sector to discuss the state of our nation's roads and explore strategies for improvement. The meeting commenced with an introduction of the members of the House Committee and the Management of the agency FERMA. It was evident from the start that both parties shared a common goal to ensure the provision and maintenance of quality roads that enhance the socio-economic development of our nation. The Managing Director of FERMA presented a comprehensive report on the current state of federal roads across the country. The report highlighted the challenges faced by FERMA in maintaining and rehabilitating the roads, including insufficient funding, inadequate manpower, and bureaucratic bottlenecks. It also emphasized the urgent need for increased investment in road infrastructure to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic growth. The House Committee members actively engaged in discussions, asking pertinent questions and seeking clarifications on specific issues. We expressed our commitment to addressing the challenges faced by FERMA and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the agency and the legislative arm of government to achieve meaningful results. During the meeting, various suggestions and recommendations were put forward to improve the maintenance and rehabilitation of federal roads. These included exploring alternative funding mechanisms such as public-private partnerships, leveraging technology for efficient road management, and strengthening the legal framework governing road maintenance in Nigeria. Overall, the first interface meeting between the Managing Director of FERMA and the House Committee was a productive and constructive engagement. It demonstrated a shared commitment to addressing the challenges faced by our road infrastructure and working towards sustainable solutions. I am confident that with continued collaboration and proactive measures, we can achieve significant improvements in our nation's road network, thereby promoting economic growth and enhancing the well-being of our citizens.
