A black woman from Kenya disappeared in the UK and was found dead in a body of water.
Barely anyone reported on it.
No one is saying her name.
She’s being forgotten.
Melissa is doing incredible work to raise awareness about cases no one else will report on.

Edna Mmbali Ombakho came to the UK from Kenya to study and reach her goals, only to end up being found dead in a body of water. No wall-to-wall mainstream media coverage. No televised press conference. Just one local news report followed by silence. open.substack.com/pub/melissasig…

Alright.
I’ll bite since you want to act dense and reduce her Blackness to the race of the man she’s with.
Zendaya EMBRACES her Black identity by advocating for awareness of real Black issues like colorism and the lack of opportunities for Black women to work in Hollywood, and consistently honors her Black cultural roots through fashion, the media that inspires her, and socially.
When Law Roach was a beginning stylist without much recognition, she was one of the first celebrities to give him a chance to showcase his remarkable talents and eye for fashion.
So much so that as a duo, they would do vintage and archival pulls/looks because major fashion brands wouldn’t lend to them at the time.
She has donated over $100,000 to Cal Shakespeare Theater, investing in the arts, and has provided funding for technology programs in underserved, predominantly Black communities.
She’s also backed multiple charitable initiatives focused on education, food security, and health for Black people and minorities.
She also shows up to Black events, as she did tonight at the 2026 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to honor other Black women in the industry, the NAACP Image Awards, the fucking BET Awards.
She reveres and praises her acting and entertainment predecessors, largely seeks out ALL Black professionals in glam and image to ensure they can work, and prides herself on being who she is as a Black woman and makes the necessary efforts to educate and dispel racial stereotypes about Black women, our hair, and our heritage.
Fashion especially, is largely apart of her activism.
Now, what the fuck do you do for Black people?
