@mistressdivy It actually is science. Feet have specialized, hairless skin and blood vessels that allow them to dissipate heat quickly. The cool blood then goes to the core to cool it down without the whole body getting cold. One foot out acts as an instant cooler for the whole body!

@salterfry I think you missed your daughter’s point/question. She asked about affordability. You went into a shame diatribe. Do better, mom. We all want to know how they afford those niceties.

My daughter made a comment of how a homeless woman could afford cigarettes. I told her that just because someone is poor they shouldn't be shamed for wanting to have a little bit of comfort in their lives. Same goes for a poor kid wanting a cookie.
