She eventually became a sex worker to support herself and began killing in self defense after potential clients she’d turn down tried to overpower her and rape her. She was a tortured soul who never had a fair chance at life. She wasn’t crazy. She was mentally ill and needed help. The system failed her and she was sentenced to death rather than given rehabilitation opportunities. Her case will always devastate me.
