I don’t have a good theory as to why the increases are so large this year. We are too far from COVID for that to be a reason, Pope Leo didn’t launch a big new initiative. Perhaps some things are beyond our human understanding.

@XFreeze @elonmusk Capitalism is designed to solve this problem. If models are as woke as you say they are, they will be less useful than the regular models with less limits. More people use them thus making them better. Unless this is just hate because xAI can’t compete without mudslinging.

@CryptoCyberia I don’t know about that. Whenever you train AI on positive responses (to avoid hateful brand damaging ones) you’re going to end up with an overly positive and agreeable model.

btw if you got sucked into AI hype psychosis, don't feel like I am insulting you. I had this psychosis for like a year and a half when I first started using them. They are designed to trick you, from the ground up. Many genius people succumbed.

@dr_awoo @KinaCatGirl @TheDoruC I believe it is the primary influence, even over their surroundings in school. Same for furries, don’t think anyone is home grown. I think it compounds on small thoughts though, for example, if I as a kid think “it would be cool to be a girl”

genuine question: why are the arts and gaming communities so fucking touchy about ai? i get that 99% of examples are slop but we’re reaching a point where ai-generated media is indistinguishable for 90% of the world that shouldn’t go un-acknowledged just because you want to hide behind a professional identity ai isn’t going away, it’s getting (a lot) better, so why not try and figure out how to work with it to your advantage? isn’t that what a bunch of hollywood is realising now? doomer: “NO THIS IS NOWHERE CLOSE TO PIXAR GRADE” 8 year old (target audience): “haha that’s awesome” what am i missing?

@KinaCatGirl @TheDoruC I really can’t recall any movie that I watched that had rituals in them or even “rituals that could change gender”. I don’t think that’s a normal thing for a kid to be doing online. I actually wasn’t googling ANYTHING at 7.
