@FmrRepMTG @ifamericansknew Israel does not recognise any ceasefires. Look at Gaza. They violated the ceasefire in Lebanon over past year and lied that Hezbollah violated it. Israel's land theft and killing continues unabated as the US, UK, and world watch helplessly.

Israel never stopped bombing, especially Lebanon. So was there ever really a ceasefire? Trump, “the peace President”, should have never started this war alongside Israel, who clearly doesn’t want peace.

This is central Beirut, close to the American University of Beirut. Nobody in these neighbourhoods would expect to be targeted; no warnings given. Displaced people are sheltering all around these locations. Israel has committed a huge massacre in Beirut.

Presumably, we're all pleased that Israel is going on wiping out villages in Lebanon.

So the bottom line is that the US bombers did leave UK bases last evening fully loaded to strike whatever crazy locations the mad president intended. I don't care that they returned. It's unjustifiable that Starmer allowed them to do it. Starmer must go, and the US bases must go as well.

Appeals for blood are being urgently called for. The extent of casualties is still not entirely known. Hospitals are being overwhelmed and this in a country which was already on its knees and where medical facilities, health workers and first responders are being relentlessly attacked in Israeli airstrikes

@laurinelson The short answer: Congress. I didn't mention that all of this of course also violates the US Constitution, which gives Congress, not the President the power to declare war. They need to step up and deny funding to continue this illegal war.

The surrender of Iran’s enriched uranium, the demand for the destruction of Iran's missiles, the vain hopes for regime change, the designs on Iranian oil – all of these goals were forgotten. What has not been forgotten, and will not be forgotten, are the 180 schoolgirls that the US murdered on the first day of their attack by striking their school – along with the thousands of other killed and maimed civilians. Lest the world be overtaken by a false sense of relief, it is crucial to brace ourselves for the long-lasting economic repercussions of Trump’s idiotic war. Make no mistake: the shockwaves of economic hardship caused by the US attack on Iran may wane but it will not be averted.
