@philsteele1 What a stalwart of @GlamCricket in West Wales, he was devastated when we lost St.Helens. Such a pity that @SwanseaCouncil didn't support cricket in the Swansea and surrounding areas, and let us lose it to the capital of Cardiff.

Such sad news - always loved a chat with John who was the very living embodiment of a ‘cricket lover.’
Sophia Gardens and county grounds around the country ( as here at Old Trafford last summer) when Glamorgan are playing will not be the same again. #RIPJohn

So very sad to hear that John Williams, a Glamorgan stalwart who founded and ran the Balconiers for 50 years has passed away. He raised a huge amount of money for the county with his and others' efforts and was devastated when first class cricket ended at his beloved St. Helen's
