What can I make as a nice dinner for us all tonight? It’s been a bruising week with a lot of work stress for us both, some upsetting family behaviour to navigate, long hours and youngest had exams. I have to do a ballet run between 6-8:30pm.

@Hopspur24 Pasta probs off menu til next week as have had twice this week- sound lovely though, it’s the sort of thing I do (did a sausage pasta on Monday)

@scriptwren Pasta, sliced sausage fried in olive oil with crushed garlic. Sprinkled with parsley to add zing. Squeeze of lemon juice. Chilli flakes if you like. Grating of Parmesan or Pecorino. Some warm sliced ciabatta. A glass of wine of your choice. Godere!!

@scriptwren I sometimes make a thing in a big roasting dish - a whole chicken, parboiled potatoes, and chunks of chorizo; basting a few times so the paprika from the chorizo infuses everything. Then sprinkle fresh gremolata on it, served with a green salad.

Ginny has died. She has been looking older lately and had dramatic hair loss the last few days (she had a vet appointment booked about it). She was up this morning but just spotted her now and she's passed. She was nearly 7.

@ohmyliver I need to stir fry again- I got really bored with them so stopped - kids’ dad tends to cook it for them when they go there so I shy away!

@scriptwren Bit late but tofu or salmon stir fry with cashew nuts is my go to quick meal Bag of stir fry veg, thumb of ginger, half to a whole bulb of garlic, a fresh chili, bag of salted cashew nuts, soy sauce, tin of pink salmon or packet of tofu and noodles.

@scriptwren #BritishHeartFoundation version of #MarryMeChicken is very quick, easy & tasty plus it’s a healthier version. Easy to adjust for more people. I make this quite often. Personally I prefer to call this recipe Chicken with sun-dried tomato sauce. 😘

@scriptwren Pasta bake? Boil some pasta and fry up some onion, garlic, chilli if you like it and minced beef if you eat meat. Add a tin of tomatoes and simmer. Stir in some chopped mozzarella and put it all into an ovenproof dish. More cheese and Parmesan on top and bake for about 15 mins.

@Lookinupatstars Yes true. I remember being scared of glandular fever when I was a teen at that was the one publicised back then- and ended up with ME at 16. But at least that was not potentially fatal.

@scriptwren This outbreak is *extraordinary* no one saw it coming. You just can’t protect children against every possible eventuality, it’s not feasible. My friend’s son caught glandular fever during Freshers Week: I’d never heard of it! All you can do is ensure their shots are up to date 🫤

My eldest daughter gets her MenB vaccine this morning at the uni. We’re in Canterbury. Fair play to the government for organising the rollout so quickly. I hope this outbreak is now contained & the vaccine rollout continues nationwide to every child not protected.
