Taking 8 good players from Brisbane sounds wonderful but how does that even happen? Port loaded up to win, backfilled the list with cheap jobbers. If they had more developmental list spots 5 year ago they never would’ve spent picks on Soldo, Esava, Zerk-Thatcher

@sdoc23 And then before properly evaluating the effect of those changes which have been in for just 12 months they change them again significantly for the upcoming draft without giving list managers the ability to prepare for them.

@maluckyday99 By the time 9 and 11 were used they were 13 and 16 in a crap draft. Folding those picks back further let you bank a North and Suns F2. Then use picks in 20’s and 30’s ie. still a massive bargain

@sdoc23 It was not slightly steeper. There were big changes to the point index and the discount was cut in half. It ended up being roughly 9 and 11 out for Dean, North F2 and 26. That's far more significant than a bunch of picks in the 40s and 50s.

@sdoc23 Carlton had to give up a massive amount for Dean because they changed the rules making it harder to match bids. Not only changing the point index but also reducing the discount. And Jagga Smith is completely irrelevant to this discussion.

@JCordy37 Assuming they can get on at Henson, Sydney would already be better and even more so once Metro West opens. Tassie might have to split 6/3 Hobart and Launceston, but I'd give it the edge on North Hobart Oval alone.

@chris_willo Somewhere between Gunston and Jack Riewoldt for Morris, he’ll be just big enough to do more big man stuff than Gunston. Curnow is the comparison, Caddy might be the version without the knee injuries. Still so young but I’d like to see him be cleaner with the ball
