I'm saying goodbye to tedious customer research. I wrote up a guide on how you can streamline your research process with ChatGPT. The best part? You can 2x your output right now. - No experience needed - Input prompts available - Generate ideas fast! Check it out below! ⚡️

Product Idea: There should be a shared "Claude Code" instance that can be passed around different people. It's dumb to have the software repo as an intermediate step.

One strange theme with new technologies is that we gravitate towards working "in" the thing rather than on the things the thing makes possible Often creating a massive empty feedback loop of products with no use case

8 years ago, I started a side project inside of a tiny Starbucks. Today, Starter Story is being acquired by @HubSpot. Here’s how it happened.

@quejicus91 It's the exact same problem as with humans. Parallel work assumes perfect knowledge of the task. When you have perfect knowledge, then you can predict what will happen in the parallel streams and — crucially — how they will integrate afterward.

Yes, agreed! Just let me go straight to Google Docs, not have to import the .docx then convert every time I want to make a change. I also feel like when I try to find a workaround, Claude Cowork keeps trying to push me to view docs as .md files in Windsurf (which I don't use) which is pretty annoying as well. Hopefully this experience improves soon.

Claude in PowerPoint is now available on the Pro plan. It also now supports connectors, bringing context from your daily tools directly into your slides. Try it here: claude.com/claude-in-powe…

@claudeai Can you please integrate more seamlessly into @Google Drive and Google Slides? I hate that I have to convert Google Slides into Powerpoint and back/forth to get it to work with Claude Cowork / Chat / Code even when I have the integration set up.

@jazer @jakek Design Sprints have been a serious secret weapon for Gusto product and design teams since the early days. Brilliant methodology for exploring the solution space 🙏

Fan of the “SaaS is dead” takes. Please keep posting these and hammering my public competitors & making the category uninvestable. (While we keep building capabilities and signing customers)

@0xSMW I've tried it, but it's never been good. I thought you had some special prompting technique lol

@KusumW It's because most of them are using white-labeled products from Scienter or Idea Hub. Both are terrible. The first bank/finance company to invest into a skilled in-house product and development team will win just by differentiation and good UX.

Most major banks in Sri Lanka make a few billion rupees every three months. I use three mobile apps from three different banks and they’re all shite. What on earth are these banks doing with their money if not investing in customer experience.

@shavin47 @mschoening Understood. I'm just curious if anyone actually does that. I've been in situations where that was the plan, but it never happened, and I'm interested to know if we're all adding onboarding steps and then not doing anything with the data.

It's just such a buzzkill to answer these questions right after signing up. Imagine walking into a store to buy a cassette tape and at the door they ask you how you heard about the store and what you do for a living, and whether your household has 0-5 or 5+ kids. Fuck off!

@hobdaydesign @mschoening From my understanding, it helps with attribution and figuring out where to place bets at the top of the funnel. Let's say they've identified a group of people where the product is a perfect fit and retention is high. They can use the onboarding data to target similar audiences.

@hobdaydesign @mschoening People frame it as “customizing the product for the user” but it’s a myth. It’s mainly for sales and marketing.

@mschoening Does anyone have any proof that these questions make a noticeable difference to anything? We added them to the sign-up flow at a previous company, but that wasn't based on any data and they didn't help.
