@Bob_Blaylock @IhabFathiSulima I knew too. Fruity smell (pear drops). On of the smells I will never forget from my nursing days on the wards
English

@IhabFathiSulima Diabetic ketoacidosis.
I wrote that without Googling, or checking the other comments. I don't know if I'm right or not, but I do recall hearing of that condition, and of a fruity smell being a prominent symptom.

@NurseStandard Worked with Fiona for years. Was so shocked when I heard this. Thinking of her familyxxx. Big hole left at Yeovil hospital.

The matron died after collapsing during a shift, and despite resuscitation attempts by ED colleagues. Staff have praised her strong leadership and caring nature.

@salvagingyouth I’m 52 and it’s not true. My sister is late 40’s and still has symptoms. My daughters cardiologist hasn’t told her her symptoms will go either
English

@HarrisDebra21 Social media! We also didn’t have that when we were young so didn’t hear much of anything. Didn’t mean it didn’t exist

@LeeAnne93437063 @NurseStandard Same with my trust although if you have a long term condition and sickness is related to that it doesn’t count towards the stages.
English

@NurseStandard My trust has stages. There used to be an informal stage then stage 1, 2, then 3 when you can be dismissed. But now if you have more than 3 episodes you go straight into stage 1, and it wouldn’t take long to get to stage 3, with more episodes you have.

Why do so many NHS nurses go to work when unwell?
We look at sickness policies in NHS trusts and how a shift towards absence management can benefit staff, patients and organisations.

Anybody else w#longcovid have heat intolerance? Summers are hard.
English

@CounsellingSam Those people are not worth the energy it takes to get angry. I am a nurse either long covid. Managing to work but not my usual full time hours
