Thank you Staten Island & Southern Brooklyn for putting your trust in me to be your next State Senator.
Truly humbled by the support and excited to serve the community I call home.
@mikeschnall@Sherrise_P@NY4P On the 10th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy SI’s congresswoman announced a $48 million project to dredge navigable waters beside wetlands for the development of hard surface manufacturing.
“…facilities such as beaches, wetlands and parks which, if built right, can serve as a cushion for harsh weather conditions that might hit coastal and neighboring communities.”
Great op-ed by good friend and parks advocacy leader @Sherrise_P of @NY4P. citylimits.org/2022/10/31/opi…
@OstapiukJ Why should the development of a foot print for the construction of offshore wind turbines be allowed to destroy Staten Island wetlands? Environmental law is as legally binding as labor law.
Staten Island’s Arthur Kill Terminal, a proposed offshore wind turbine assembly facility in Richmond Valley touted as an integral piece in the state’s energy goals, received a $48 million federal grant Wednesday in a major step forward for the project.

@CommunityOSW Except when developing a footprint for the construction of offshore wind turbines?
Staten Island wetlands should not be destroyed to allow for turbine construction.
