Trade idea NFA no one knows what will happen with Trump - its for BRENTOIL Let's get into it Hyperliquid lets you trade weekend markets But the price you see is not the spot price of oil It is currently BRENTN6 aka the July 2026 expiry price The last trading day for this is on 29 May (> 1 month away) but the oracle prices on Hyperliquid will start incorporating the August price starting 7 May People are surprised by this but it normal for BRENT markets to trade 2 months ahead as its the most liquid From the 7-13th of May (as per schedule below) the weights of the oracle will change to incorporate the price of the August expiry Currently: July expiry price: $99.93 August expiry price: $94.88 If the 2nd round of talks between US:Iran are somewhat fruitful then the August price can drop significantly even though the current price is flat Hyperliquid's xyz markets is going to start increasing the weight of the August expiry over the next 2 weeks so the drop could be even more significant BTW Bitmex BRENT contracts and others work in a similar fashion so this is not new - just that I think most people trading these weekend markets don't know this nuance and expect prices to reflect spot sentiment when its actually ~2 months out
