This is Preston's away following for their game away at Birmingham tonight. Should they be taking more? 🤔 Won 3 in 20. Not going up, not going down.. 📸: @Tommy_Kelsall

@AdamMcCloud07 @alexpnefc Do me a favour, his performance with us has been awful with no noticeable improvement in anything that matters. What he’s done in the past is irrelevant.

@Budgierustler34 Hecky and Stuart were getting pissed off all 90 minutes on the sidelines. They wanted the players to be more direct and more forward thinking instead of sideways and backwards. I don’t blame the management I blame the guys on the pitch.

Bikes are objectively inferior transportation by every metric. Slow, minimal carrying capacity. Can't carry passengers. Exposed to the elements, the rain, snow, sleet, heat, and cold. It's awful. Incapable of practical regional access.

@ChrisHo03515950 @SimonHarrisMBD For most people it isn’t about breakfast, it’s about time. To get to work. And contribute some taxes. And avoid taking even more from the state which seems to upset you all so much.

O think the problem most people have with this is that we are paying for something so trivial as breakfast for kids that has been handled by parents since the beginning of time. If a bowl of cereal or a couple of slices of toast is too much effort for a parent, they shouldn’t have kids. Likewise, if they are unable to afford those, serious questions need to be asked about their suitability to look after children at all as the government provides generous welfare options, or they are entirely incapable of budgeting.

The irony of people attacking free breakfast clubs because ‘parents should work hard to feed their kids,’ when parents use these so they can drop their kids off earlier and then … you guessed it … go to work at the time required by their employer in order to feed their kids.

@SandyofSuffolk @danieldullaway No, they have to consider it within two months and, if refused, give a business reason within two months. It’s quite easy to think of a business reason.

The excuse 'We need breakfast clubs at school so we can get to work on time' won't wash. Either get a job starting at 9.30 or pay a childminder or family member to look after your child at 8am and take them to school at 9. Like we used to. And don't forget to brush their teeth and use the loo instead of nappies before you pop off to work too. Like we used to.

@laflammerouge16 Van Aert should feel sorry for himself. Pogacar worked 70/30 and ur saying he should feel proud? That’s why the dude will never be remembered whereas Pogacar will be called the goat.

#ParisRoubaix - Van Aert didn't fully cooperated with Pogacar. He won't be a true champion for Adrie Van der Poel but he at least won the race - that's the only thing that matters.

@AliBrownleetri Having ridden an event in the alps a few years ago that took me to a very grim place (and then returning a few years later to fare little better) this is great stuff. Just 10 years too late!

1/5 Heat is a silent killer in endurance sport. I’ve felt it destroy races and even ended up in hospital after. You think you’ve got pacing, fueling, everything sorted.. then the temp climbs and your body just says no. I've been obsessed with beating it ever since. Acclimation helps (sauna, heat blocks), but it takes weeks. What if you could cheat the system a bit before the gun? Enter taurine. Not hype, some real human studies have me genuinely excited.

@catterallwhite I entirely agree. But it’s not the fault of great men like McGrath and Peters, who understood the club and its fans better than anyone, that they had to deal with what came before. They aren’t to blame for what we have now and don’t deserve their contributions to be forgotten.

@simonjdeakin To get those multiple promotions Simon, we also had mulitple relegations to get their. We had some very enjoyable seasons & some very good sides but that is limited success isnt it, although, back then we had a plan & ambition. Sadly now, we have neither.

Putting off investors? I fully understand why some fans may choose to protest, most will protest by just not attending on Friday. As for "knee jerk" - we got relegated from the top flight in 1961 - aside from a cup final in 64 we have done bugger all since. 😂 #pnefc
Stephen Bunting (no not that one)@stevebpne

@Ariley261285 Don’t be silly. Think. Do you want to scare off potential investors? What will a protest achieve? The club is for sale. The only priority at this moment is to find a suitable custodian for the future of the club. And knee jerk reactions like this aren’t helping !

In any year this is a stellar read. In a World Cup year it is an absolute vintage read. Limited original editions are now selling for £200. Proud to have one in my bookcase. The writing is sublime. If you don’t want to part with that sort of money, the original template of this type of football book was Hunter Davies’ The Glory Game. Put your feelings about Tottenham in a temporary box. This was groundbreaking and still is - a full season following a top flight club, access all areas. Quite the season for Spurs too. Likes of which they’d give their right arm for now.
