@columnatedrunes yes, i think that’s right. it’s not a simple yes/no. but seeing PC Music as exclusively or even primarily ironic is missing the point (and people have been making this same mistake for 10+ years)

@simonwilliam People have a tendency to think that using irony in art necessarily diminishes or subsumes the work. Something can have ironic elements and ultimately be sincere! I find that tension in a lot of PC Music work to be as beautiful as it is in, say, Stravinsky’s neoclassical work
