So yeah, generics are handy in situations like these to avoid having awkward function names. Fantastic!

Getting rid of old habits is tough. I have a type that marshals to text so I made some decode functions.
Called one DecodeTick and the other DecodeTickString.
I implemented the underlying function as generic, then realized I could just have a single generic DecodeTick function.

@bitspace @GoTimeFM Thanks! I’m glad that’s how it lands because there have been multiple times when I get halfway through one of those riffs and just think to myself “why did I start saying this?” and then worry that I’ve gone wildly off track 😂
