So movie studios are abandoning the US completely and turning their full staff American workers into contractors to get out paying for healthcare which just makes those workers even vulnerable to the healthcare system. While the US loses one of its iconic industries.

@kurrrto Junichi Hayama did a great job with character design and animation direction. Also doesn’t hurt that it has a roster of very skilled key animators like Norio Matsumoto, Hiroyuki Okiura, Takahiro Kishida, Satoshi Kon, Toshiyuki Tsuru, and Madahiro Ando just to name a few.

I think that's because of corruption at the management level, with all of that money going to them and not being paid properly to the animation staff. This is also a problem across a lot of industries globally, sadly.

If Japan has been raking it in globally with anime. Why is it that we sometimes hear that animation studios aren't in a good state? Also Anime in general seem to have shorter runs. Back then Gundam had 50 episodes, while the newest one is finished with 12.

@MercuryFalcon Tonally it feels like the love child of Mamoru Oshii & Masaaki Yuasa. The sense of humor and focus on grotesque ugliness is throwing me off balance. Adds a lot of personality to a show about political scheming. Not sure if it’s for me but I’m interested. Great English dub too.

The first two episodes of Nippon Sangoku were excellent. I think the presentation can be overwhelming at first, but by the end of the first episode, I had adapted to it and was fully enraptured in the story. I can't believe they name-dropped the Universal ride Minion Mayhem.

I heard only 12 episodes were completed when it started airing. Anno: Yes. And that's only animation part. We prepared only a few full-complete episodes. So the situation was already bad. Anno: We spent 1.5 or 2 years on 12 episodes. We had to make other 14 ep in a half year.
