Personally I believe Rome was Rome not because of its conquering nature but the ability to build. Roads. Wheels and chariots. Lifts. Ballistics. Aqueducts. Colosseum. Sauna. Libraries. Unsanitary to modern standards but yes a toilet system. Resilience in engineering, seems to be a understatement. Some things outshine pyramids by ergonomic thinking in scale; city planning. Republican. For the people. As a young kid, I always watched trucks, in a long consecutive line, roaring on i95 towards Baltimore harbor or beyond. The line of legion felt like giant dragons migrating in flock formation. I could easily feel how Americans might have felt about railroads in the early 20th century. There it was, is, and will be. The roads and the roaring wheels. Wheels. Roads. Highways. Trucks. The American vessel, the artery, the engine, the pump system. A roman soldier can be an icon of Rome, easily recognized, but it doesn't represent the identity nor the aesthetic brand as a collective sort. B2, aerospace missions, the rocket-teering are inherently American but it does not say anything about a dad resting porches in Maryland after mowing the grass or girl's lacrosse team drama during college app season or a dog owner in Mississippi etc. If American people as a collective will not produce a homogeneous culture of a sort, the "industry" can be of a substantial substitute, instead of letting itself called cultureless. USA is only 250 years old compared to 5000 years old Korean, 10000 European / Chinese, 20000 Egyptian / Babylonian etc . It is Not a satellite culture of Europe but neither the Christian heritage eius religio (although I would like to believe so). Science and technology yet has to become a wholesome substitute as American religion if brutal observational atonement has to be made on her quest of cultural identity. What is truly American, then? As a collective spirit? As frontier founding pioneers of industrialization? As a brand identity among western civilization? Pope Leo recently made not just a political comment but an existential one. America is trying to inherit Rome in its Regality and Imperiosa has to override at best of this ancient, closed societal power struggle. Iranese front is the trench, the Chinese front the matrix, the vulgate (vatican) Rome is the "Baltimore." Where all roads lead to, as the currency dictates all men must serve or all men must pay tax. In petrodollars crypto blood and bones freedom the very soul — you name the true currency. I got triggered into rereading Susan Sontag for answering a curious point on why people tend to call it "aesthetics" when it is mere "stylization." Thinking of USA trying to rebrand itself by asking the government's role and how the war industry with military prowess challenges bygone perspectives of 20th century.....POTUS and team is outstanding with the cause and business to a point of art. Aesthetics? Trendslop mining and memetech virals prove the iconography market. Legion stands. Road and wheels engineering stands. Ballistics thrive. Rome now has two heads—one that sacrifices and enslaves, one that liberates and emancipates. One that is culturally Christian, ironically non Roman; and the other that acknowledges Islam and Communism. What has to be conquered...?

No problem with glamourous grandeur erection but where did the Angel with torch and seven pointy halo come from ? I thought the french Lady of Liberty was inspired by the Lucifer painting ?
