In the UK there was a 20-fold increase in diagnosis in an 18 year period. This is not an increase that can be explained by "people couldn't get help before". It's a largely made-up condition, most of us trouble with focus and lifestyle factors are the primary driver of this, pathologising it just causes more harm and makes tonnes of people addicted to mind-altering, dependence forming drugs. It's a mass hysteria around ordinary struggles.

The most disabling symptom of ADHD is the paralysis. It's the deep, internal shame of knowing exactly what to do... and just sitting there, watching yourself not do it.

@Reframe_Reality @KeruboSk it’s not that people couldn’t get help before—people were under-diagnosed, especially people outside of what the face of adhd looks like: young white boys. that’s why you’re seeing an influx of diagnoses now. you sound extremely ignorant, uninformed, and judgmental.
