The actual job of a product roadmap is to manufacture hope. Roadmaps are corporate hopium – we are addicted and we need a periodic hit of this hopium to deal with the sad reality that we will achieve very little this quarter because our infra sucks & we have a dozen dependencies.

@stevenjmesser Was a while back now, we took learnings from it and approached with positivity. Perhaps the term Assessment and the idea of Met /Not met needs changing. Reviews and Recommendations are much more constructive! But yeah, digital has matured in gov so they definitely need reform.

@stevenjmesser Definitely have my own experience of the dogma. I once delivered an Alpha that was super experimental and insightful, but in assessment we were marked on how well our throwaway prototype adhered to the design system and didn’t pass. The panel completely missed the point IMHO.

Largely I think the Service Standard and assurance processes in government are very good. But there’s a problem to be addressed in the culture that surrounds it, a culture of fear and dogma (that wasn’t the original intent). visitmy.website/2023/08/16/bur…

This just completed! Six civil servants, mostly non-digital, never worked together, identified a dept wide problem and shipped some rather cool chatbot / AI products in just six weeks! It was only supposed to be a pilot but will be hard to beat! 🚀 #dluhcinnovationsquads

@armstrongkatya @armstrongkatya they assist the service desks by give DLUHC employees correct answers to their (for now HR) questions faster.
