I’m a little late posting, but it was a busy week! The Spring concert was awesome! We had everything from Beethoven to Laufey and Bach to MJ. We were in the “Thick of It” with all the styles. Great job Rockets! @JresRockets

Our 5th graders studied world instruments and classifications, then created a “mutant” instrument using two selected instruments that one person could play. They worked with our amazing art teacher to do a Picasso inspired artwork and did a slideshow as well. @JresRockets

Look who I caught teaching music class Friday?! We are fortunate to have such a caring teacher; when Coach Cline is not coaching kids with sports, he’s coaching them in life. I’m thankful for a great teammate! @JresRockets

JRES has got some truly talented kiddos that’s for sure! I’m so proud of all of our talent show performers. 40 amazing acts! Here’s a small sample: @JresRockets @soundsofJRES

The talent show starts at 5pm on Thursday and it is going to be absolutely incredible! You must come see these kids. We have 40 performing acts so we have split the show into two parts. The second half starts at 6:30.

During our “Sharpen the Saw” time, we played a little musical chairs and enjoyed listening to songs that are trending with the kids right now. When they were “out”, they got to join the rhythm band or become a singer. @soundsofjres @JresRockets

We have really enjoyed our time with Mr. Payocong at JRES! We all wish him the best of luck in his next placement. I know that wherever he ends up, he is going to do great things! We were truly a dynamic duo. Team Powell-Cong! @JresRockets @soundsofJRES

The modern band groups had their first rehearsals today. They are gearing up for an awesome concert tomorrow. @soundsofJRES @JresRockets

Our very own Anna Grace Ballard “graced” the stage today at the Kentucky Center in Louisville. She rehearsed for the last two days and sang beautifully. She was also asked to present the plaque to our wonderful accompanist at the end of the concert. @soundsofJRES @JresRockets
