Spaulding T. Bear retweetet

This is Miriam Lancaster.
She went to an ER in Canada for pain.
Not dying.
Not terminal.
In pain.
What she was offered wasn’t treatment.
They offered her MAID.
Her injury?
A non-life-threatening sacral fracture.
Read that again.
She later said something that should stop everyone cold:
When you reach a certain age in Canada, this becomes the conversation.
She wasn’t ready to die.
She wanted to live.
And she did.
She healed.
She traveled.
She continued her life.
That’s the part people need to understand.
This wasn’t mercy.
This was introduced before the fight was even finished.
And if you think this stays contained to one country, you’re not paying attention.
