i got silver :3 i’m so excited but it was lowk terrifying to see that m&g was sold out by the time i clicked on it at 12:00pm on the dot .. the portland tickets weren’t being sold thru ticketmaster so there was no way to join the queue early

@spideydnp i agreed w this until i found out there were only 75 gold tickets per show. which ik you didnt mention, but thats what im seeing talked abt most in regards to this. releasing any to patreon members early would feel unfair i think, and that’s as someone who pays for it + got gold

anyway i think that when you pay monthly for additional privileges its not unreasonable to think that you would get additional privileges for when they do something as massive as a world tour

@rensaxon this is entirely valid and i see your reasoning. to be entirely clear im not upset about the lack of a presale option, just expressing that i dont think its unreasonable to think that when you have a paid subscription to a creator, that you would maybe have more -

to be clear, i don’t think that patreon subs should have access to an early drop of 100% of tickets, just an allocation of tickets that allow a smaller cohort first dibs at them, then more tickets (probs the majority) released to the general public, as most presales go /gen

@thefolkloredept yeah for sure, i 100% agree with you. i definitely think that hypothetically it would be good, but obviously there would need to be an allocation of tickets but not ALL the tickets available to those with presale. i definitely worded myself poorly

@spideydnp i’m guessing they didn’t do it for legal reasons as i don’t think putting ticket sales behind paywalls is legal in some places. a small podcast i listen to has their sale go live on patreon first but they have it on try booking and are doing 400 cap venues

@spideydnp i think part of it may be due to the fact that in certain countries it’s illegal to have a presale behind a paywall (eg. aus, if vip was exclusive to patreon members or more in presale than general they’d be up for massive fines here)

@spideydnp They did NO presale. None at ALL. So you’re basically asking for special treatment based on paying for something that they’ve never affiliated with giving you better opportunities for live events.

@incrediblylwt presales are an incredibly normal part of buying tickets to literally anything. it’s surprising there was no patreon presale code considering how expensive it is

@incrediblylwt awesome i’ve also been a fan for 10 years and have been paying for patreon since it started never said you didn’t deserve it. considering in this system pay more = more opportunities whether it’s a monthly patreon sub or a $350 gold ticket it would make sense 🤷
