John Terry has appeared to endorse a UK politician’s social media post that advocates for a nationwide ban on the burqa before deleting his comment. The former England captain is still involved in football and has been in an academy coaching consultancy role with Chelsea since 2021, working in a part-time capacity that involves mentoring academy players. Rupert Lowe, an independent Member of Parliament (MP) and founder of Restore Britain, a recently registered political party, uploaded a photo to Instagram that stated his intention to outlaw the garment, worn by some Muslim women, if Restore Britain was to ever form a government. Restore Britain was launched in June as a pressure group and announced in March that it was an officially registered political party. It does not hold any seats in parliament. 🚨Aston Villa had the perfect chance to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Malmo in 2001 after a meeting between representatives and Zlatan's father A disagreement over a £100,000 payment to his dad caused Sir Doug Ellis to walk out before the Swede went on to join Ajax 🗣Ex-Villa scout Bryan King: “Peter Withe and I took Doug Ellis to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s home. Ibrahimovic was at Malmo at the time, and I had seen him before there at Rosenberg, a small club in the district he comes from. “We could have got him for £740,000, that was the deal from Malmo with a sell-on clause, but his father wanted £100,000 for himself. “When Withe said to Doug about giving that to him, he said: ‘Give him what? I’m not giving him £100,000. No, no, no. He’s an unknown quantity; it’s not happening. I think we should leave.’ We walked out, and within 10 days he signed for Ajax and the father got his £100,000.” What could have been for #avfc 🇸🇪🟣🔵
