@certis_belchim In Lincolnshire they are known as ‘lawn-wreckers’. They do so much damage, with the grubs persisting for 3 years chomping away on grass roots. I’m keeping my lawn longer throughout May to discourage adults from laying their eggs

Keep a watchful eye during the late evenings in May, and you may spot/hear an adult cockchafer beetle. These adult beetles only have a short lifespan of six weeks, spent predominately searching for a mate. What other name do these beetles go by? #InsectThursdays #FarmingUK

Last week saw 4 of us head up to SASA for the Growing Crop Classification Training Course organised by BPTA The SASA plots are a great facility for learning varietal & disease identification. The course is definitely recommended to anyone working with seed potatoes @PotatoTrade
