I ghosted someone about half a year ago because they were an ass on our first meetup. Every few weeks, they still check in on me, asking how I’m doing, even though I never reply. Today, they were the first one to wish me a happy birthday and I don’t know what to feel, tbh.

Third, maybe I’m just at the lowest point in my life and mentally exhausted from everything, so even the smallest gesture from a stranger is making me emotional.

First, I only told them my birthday ONCE during our conversation when we hung out. So I’m surprised they still remember it. Second, no one has ever made such a consistent effort to check in on me and ask how I’m doing in life, except them. So yes, it kinda touched my soul a bit.
