That’s a dumb take. The skepticism around Ozempic isn’t because people believe in some cosmic karma system. It’s because every drug has trade offs, and the long term effects of using a diabetes med for weight loss still aren’t fully understood. This isn’t animism or superstition. It’s basic biology and caution. If you suppress appetite and mess with insulin signalling, there’s likely a downstream cost, muscle loss, nutritional deficiencies, mental health impact, or metabolic slowdown. Believing there’s no cost? Now that’s magical thinking.

Ozempic skepticism seems entirely based on the animist-like idea that there is a conservation law for good fortune - all good things must have some equal cost imposed elsewhere. It’s not scientific skepticism, it’s superstition.

Why is making med students work night even a debate? It should be their choice depending on their specialty interest. Get rid of archaic BS that has actually been proven to increase mental health issues and burnout.

They want us to practice only for them to deny the science and take ivermectin.
Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D.@RepGregMurphy

@GmOrr9000 It should be mandated that unless disabled, each medical school graduate should have to practice medicine FULL TIME for 15 years (minimum) or have to refund the Federal Government for the cost of tuition.

DOs spared
Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D.@RepGregMurphy

#1 reason for MD shortage is Med schools admitting students who aren’t going to practice. Only 60% of med students today plan on practicing clinical medicine. Med Schools need to focus on admitting students who want take care of patients, not just get their MD.

Low vitamin D levels are linked to almost every major disease—cancer, diabetes, depression, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders. Yet doctors barely talk about it. Guess why?!
