The signs in the Otherside sky foretell a season of renewal. At least that’s what Blue says.

The same journalist has now compared reporting on armed conflict to being criticised for racialised language…
The levels of privileged, unreflective, and yes racist fuckery required to do so is quite breath taking…

"Christina Lamb has spent her whole career reporting on discrimination and injustices against people in every part of the world and never intended to make light of his remark in any way.” That'why in 2021, she wrote so approvingly of racist comments? pressgazette.co.uk/sunday-times-e…

@EmmaTuckerST @christinalamb We would also like to reiterate that we do not condone the violence and threats Lamb received. We publicly stated this on our petition and social channels. Please see screenshots attached.

We are not asking for @christinalamb to be cancelled. We were asking for a formal printed apology and retraction which we have yet to receive. If she is genuinely aggrieved and “sorry” as her statement says she is she would appeal to her editor at @thesundaytimes

@ArmyTeacake I will be trying to revive it in some form ! Thanks for asking !

@susiebubble Obv is your website and free to take it offline but would be a real bummer if it was gone forever, even if you moved on from it.

I came back onto Twitter because I was so disappointed to see @christinalamb not only shirk away from a real apology but because as part of @EseaSisters we would like to start meaningful dialogue. Once again we DO NOT condone threats/trolling.

Our focus is accountability and change, not Ms Lamb's past or personality. We want a conversation, not punishment.
The Sunday Times or Ms Lamb haven't offered a retraction or direct apology to us, so all we've said already on the petition still applies

We do not condone the targeted violence Ms Lamb has had to experience - the violence of words is exactly what we are speaking against.
Just as racism was never her intention, targeted hate was never ours - yet the impact still exists.

A week ago I wrote a report on Prince Philip’s funeral with a line about his ‘offending’ remarks which was intended to mean we laughed at his lack of diplomacy but was interpreted by many as saying we laughed at the remarks.

So some of you may have been following our @EseaSisters petition to ask @thesundaytimes to retract and formally apologise for a front page news piece flagrantly condoning and encouraging racism change.org/p/the-sunday-t…
