i don’t know how people can restart their mods folder, like how do u delete every mod and start over? or do u pick some to keep? it scares me to think about

@Fortniteuhhhhh unfortunately doesn’t help because i have nearly 40k mods to go through and my computer keeps shutting down on me 💔 it has to be a full reset i fear

@swampietrait I get that you can also use Scarlett‘s realm to look up and usually all of the mods are on there and it shows you what each creator has updated too! That’s also what helps cuz true me I had like 300+gb of stuff in general and I started with my mods and I’m already down to 275gb!

@drowsyoongi i get u ! i have a pc luckily so i should be able to do both but i can imagine it would be annoying on a laptop

@swampietrait I thought about figuring out how to get my CC read on an external drive, but I can’t use my wireless mouse and the extra storage at the same time and I’d really rather not play with just the trackpad

@AndieTheSim yeah i use tray importer a lot to send my friends my sims and stuff so it shouldn’t take me long to get it done !

@swampietrait Tray Importer is gonna be your best friend during this. Eventually it gets to a point where I'm like, I don't need ALL this hospital CC or an ENTIRE outfit collection🤣 If there's a choice, always download the items separated not merged! Makes restarting or organizing easier!

@Itssimsday my problem is i can’t remember what’s what when i look at the file names, i only remember the creator names

@swampietrait I just went thru just my mods and just picked the main things I know I needed and then went thru everything else little by little and I organized everything in folders and my main mods go in their own folder so it’s a lot of organizing everything also mod manger helps

@swampietrait I back up my mods folder to an external hardrive but if I’m feeling really risky I’ll just delete the whole thing. Recently I just took certain cc out and deleted the rest.

@TinyDragonG i can’t back up a copy of my mods folder bc it’s 200gb and i hardly have space left on my computer to do it 💔

@swampietrait I backup the entire folder somewhere else and then delete stuff lol. I like having an archive in case i remember something and don’t feel like redownloading it. :)

@swampietrait i typically add all my alpha cc to a new folder and download all new maxis cc! i can switch save files whenever!

@Plvtostxr i think im just gonna have to make a bunch of random townies with my fave cc items slapped onto them and then save their tray files with all of the cc included, same for rooms with my fave walls, floors, and build items so i can at least have them easily available

@swampietrait i remember every mod i’ve downloaded and i delete everything and end up w them back when my game doesn’t wanna load im too lazy to 50/50 the other way

@rrrubygloom i feel like it’s def gonna help me in the long run, especially since my mods folder is at 200gb and im running out of space on my computer

@swampietrait I've restarted my mod folder so many times, I've lost count tbh. It's mostly due to laptop complications, but honestly, it helps me get better at organizing my mods folder.
