Weird how the wealthiest institution I've been a part of (a Cambridge University college, a long time ago) is the only one that regularly sends me begging letters

Still can't decide if the schadenfreude of Elon Musk losing however many tens of billions on twitter offsets the mild irritation that academics can no longer self promote, procrastinate and moan so effectively!

Nothing seems likely to replace the incisive irreverence or stupidity of this place, but it feels like its best days are well behind us. (The decline having pre-dated Elon Musk, imho)

Not abandoning Twitter completely, but have finally caved & joined LinkedIn for more worky stuff (I know, I know, but it actually seems quite... good?) Twitter seems to block links to LinkedIn, which seems a little desperate?

Seems like a bit of a deficit of the imagination if going to space is necessary to realise the beauty and fragility of earth etc

So close to tears this morning as I dropped off my son at his new (secondary) school in his too big, too new uniform, looking suddenly too grown-up to me and yet still too young amidst the throng of teenage bodies and attitude

I'm currently only brick-curious but these people are *serious*. I met a guy who drove 8 hours just for one particularly rare brick 🧱

Just been to my first brick swap. A fascinating scene and lovely group of people!
