Had to see it for myself. It's true: the new edition of the D&D Dungeon Master's Guide encourages players to raise their arms in an "X" if they are triggered by any in-game content.

Some Conservative MPs arrived drunk at the House of Commons last Thu night 4 the GST relief vote. They screamed, disrupted proceedings that parliamentary pages were removed from the unsafe opposition lobby. In most workplaces, showing up intoxicated is grounds 4 dismissal.

In 40+ years of being a DM and a player, I’ve never had anyone object to my content nor objected to anyone else’s. What kind of extreme game are they playing these days if they need “safe words”?

@bignothingman @flburnsgm @WizardGoesBoom Uh, yeah, they don’t say “just deal with it.” This is about ways to resolve rather than just say “deal with it.”

@tabletopalmanac @flburnsgm @WizardGoesBoom point to where the old books forced you to not do this, or where they DIDNT give options to resolve this situation. The DMGs of every edition gave advice on how to deal with things people dont like, and they never said everyone has to just deal with it lol.
