J&K’s Private Universities Bill, 2026 marks a shift from accessible public education, once shaped by JNU, DU, BHU, AMU & other such public universities, towards privatisation. Opposed it on the floor of the House as it risks making higher education costly & out of reach for poor.

Speaking on my private member’s bill regarding the regularisation of daily wagers.

Police scuttled a peaceful indoor meeting of CPI ( M) workers in Shopian and assaulted workers. Such actions undermine democratic space, erode the rule of law, and deepen mistrust among citizens expressing peaceful dissent. Request @OfficeOfLGJandK to look into it.

Strongly condemn the assassination bid on Farooq Abdullah Sahab. Fortunately, he escaped unhurt. The incident demands a thorough probe. It must be probed how an assailant carrying a loaded pistol managed to get so close — a serious security lapse.

Requesting the Hon’ble Union Home Minister ( @AmitShah ) to kindly intervene and have these FIRs withdrawn.

Very unfortunate that FIRs have been lodged against Kashmiri students at Mewar University, Rajasthan. Be it students or traders, Kashmiris are repeatedly facing harassment in different parts of the country. Such incidents only deepen mistrust. 1/2
