@honeymoon250 In the immediate area Grizzly Bears, Mountain Goats, Elk, and Deer though some Mountain Lions and Wolves wander through as well. I don't leave the little dogs outside because they are attractive snacks for the Eagles and Owls.

I arrived early to a unit I was inspecting. Stopped by on friday to tell the OA Superintendent to expect me Monday morning. I'd sent the approprate arrivel notifications and verified by phone. The only reason I got there early was to spend the whole weekend with my family who lived 20 miles from the base. The Unit Commander spotted me in the hall as I was leaving after the check in and became OUTRAGED that he wasn't informed I was coming for a visit. He practically dragged me to his office blowing off steam the whole way. Told me to sit there and called HIS Commander (My boss). He got through on the first ring and started to unload, then he suddenly got quiet and very intent. I knew what was coming, just not how much and how loud, and suggested I wait outside in his secretary's office but was told to remain... actually I asked twice. Apparently my Colonel Boss (Brigadier selectee) was kinda upset himself. I tried to make like I wasn't there... but I could hear both sides of the conversation from nearly 20 feet away (not a speaker phone FWIW) I heard things like "when you look at SSgt Hall you should see little eagles hovering over his shoulders, and when he speaks you should hear my voice" and "He is entitled to visit your unit any time he desires because I am entitled to drop in at will." It went on a while and I was praying I would never be asssigned to a unit he commanded the rest of my career. When it was finally over what seemed like a week later he wouldn't look at me, mumbled an apology, and let me leave. Apparently he passed on my boss's advice because on Monday I got the royal treatment. My Boss depended on HIS QA section to keep 7 active duty QA offices and 14 Guard shops running smoothly. His eyes and ears on the whole show. Five experienced Team Chiefs turned QA Managers who had seen the same problems our teams had right from the trenches (literal trenches on some jobs.) He didn't allow anyone to interfere with our mission. It was an amazing assignment and I loved helping units keep things going. My favorite write up was "corrected on the spot" I was surprised to be asked to attend his frocking ceremony, it was supposed to be a semi-private thing with a few select folks. My CMSgt supervisor, all the CC staff officers, and the rest of our QA Managers (including me) were asked personally to attend. Watching his stars being pinned on was one of the coolest things I saw on that tour. PS: He was the one that said I could bring Naomie my Dobie to work. She laid in the corner until someone visiting came into the shop then she slid under my desk till they left. She got more petting than any five dogs ought have. BEST JOB EVER!

Sixteen years ago I reported for 9 weeks of WOBC at Ft. Jackson, S.C. I stupidly showed up a day early, not realizing class lodging would not be ready until the eve of the course start. Spent my first night in a rat trap motel near the gate. Feels like a million years ago, and yet, it also feels like yesterday. #OldGuyBlues

A woman on the train says her legs are hurting while standing. Got me thinking - Do people still give up their seat for women like back in the day… or is that gone now… Real question? If she was standing next to you, would you offer your seat? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@Oceanbreeze473 Honestly I think I might. But going through High School again isn't on the agenda... I'd probably head to Texas and sweep floors at SpaceX till I could move up to something my skills would qualify me for...

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do? By isitmeaitah

@IanJaeger29 Gee, ya think? Automatic registration in multiple states from the Motor Voter BS means that there are probably a LOT more than that registered... And many if not most of them believe they get to vote because they're registered... Specious argument at best.

@kiierrhairgrow right color frequency, right distribution of emitters, dirt cheap timing chips, and you'll never have a different result. Maybe $75 to make a reasonable profit.... maybe.

Wisconsin Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard confirmed that a man was arrested after distributing an offensive internet meme depicting him with a Jewish star on his forehead, calling it antisemitic. The sheriff said the man was “trying to threaten and intimidate” him by posting the meme. He said the First Amendment makes people “feel empowered, emboldened, and safe,” so he had to teach the public a lesson. PUSSY!

The ultimate problem with strict isolationism is that it doesn't work. You can have no interest in the affairs of other nations, but other nations will never not have interest in yours. Likewise, where are your markets? To whom do you sell, and from whom do you buy?

The left doesn’t seem to understand that knowingly and willfully perpetrating a political hoax to unseat the President of the United States is a treasonous abrogation of the will of The People. Those who engage in such egregious behavior have been hanged for less.
