As another software engineer I can assure you it is absolutely possible, and furthermore probable. It’s only impossible if you have never written production code and assume the SSN is the primary key because “that’s unique” and have never had real life get in the way of ideals

The most effective software engineers I know always had a tendency to revert to writing "C" style code. Nothing seems to come close in terms of readability / maintainability.
