Bobby Douglas was one of the greatest icons in the sport of wrestling, but if you met him, you wouldn't know it. Humble, giving and kind is how most of us who were blessed to work with him remember him. Enjoy this photo of Coach Douglas as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team.

Absolutely awful news of the passing of Bill Courtney. Great guy, was an assistant at a bunch of stops, most recently at Temple, and head coach at Cornell from 2010-16. Bill Courtney literally always had a smile every time I saw him. Just a really good person. This is so sad.

I will never forget our conversations about Bronco’s boxing career and his CYO fight against Don Amidei, in which he defeated Amidei, but the newspaper saluted Amidei as the Bishop Shiell Sportsmanship award winner in huge headlines.

Following today's "Today in Blue Demon History", I saw that the "best magazine cover" ever was released on Dec. 1, 1980, thanks to the Davenport Sports Network on Facebook.
