Day 30 Learning React So i will be building a Small Business Financial Management App that helps small businesses track income, expenses, and profit in a simple way. Many small businesses don’t properly track their money, so this tool will make financial management easier for them. I was supposed to start building it today, but I honestly didn’t know how to go about it 😹 so today was mostly spent thinking through the idea and planning how everything is going to work.

Day 29 learning React Honestly, I’ve been thinking of what to build next because I totally ran out of ideas 😅. But now I finally have one. From tomorrow, we build! Try and guess what I’m about to start building tomorrow!!

Being a Frontend Developer in 2026 Is Not Beans (Especially in Nigeria) Let’s be honest for a minute. A few years ago, everybody was shouting “learn tech, learn coding, six-figure salary, remote job.” Suddenly thousands of people rushed into frontend development. Today almost everyone knows React, builds with Next.js, or designs sites with Webflow. Now add AI tools like ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot that can literally generate components, fix bugs, and even write code faster than you can type. So the market today? Packed. You open LinkedIn and see: “Frontend developer with 2 years experience looking for opportunities.” Then you check the comments… 500 applicants already. Many Nigerian developers spend months learning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, then build the same things: •To-do apps •Weather apps •Netflix clones •Portfolio websites But guess what? Recruiters have seen 10,000 of those already. So the problem isn’t just AI. The real problem is everybody is building the same thing. The Truth Nobody Likes to Hear Companies are no longer just hiring people who can code. They want people who can solve problems. If you’re just another person who can build a landing page, you’re competing with: •thousands of developers •AI tools •no-code builders That’s the reality. So What’s The Way Out? If you want to survive as a frontend developer today, especially in Nigeria, you need to change strategy. 1. Build real solutions, not tutorial projects. Instead of another portfolio website, build something useful. A logistics dashboard, farm marketplace, lost-and-found platform, or tools for local businesses. 2. Learn how to make money with your skills. Businesses don’t care about React components. They care about customers, sales, and growth. 3. Combine skills. Developers who understand design, product thinking, or marketing will always stand out. 4. Use AI instead of fearing it. Developers who know how to use tools like ChatGPT will move faster than those fighting it. Final Truth Frontend development is not dead. But the era of “learn React → get job immediately” is slowly disappearing. The developers who will win are the ones who stop thinking like coders and start thinking like builders and problem solvers. Because at the end of the day, businesses don’t pay for code. They pay for solutions. 🚀

Here’s how an X post goes viral and how the algorithm works: When you tweet, the algorithm first shows it to 15–25% of your followers. If they engage within seconds or a minute, the algorithm marks your tweet as relevant and distributes it to a larger audience. So, for a post to trend or go viral, you need to hold those 15–25% people tight. The problem? We don’t know who they are.

@nikitabier Hey Nikita I hope you see this; For non-war AI content, like funny deepfakes or meme videos, are you guys planning similar disclosure requirements or revenue-sharing penalties soon, or is the focus staying mostly on high-stakes stuff like armed conflicts for now?

Today we are revising our Creator Revenue Sharing policies to maintain authenticity of content on Timeline and prevent manipulation of the program. During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today’s AI technologies, it is trivial to create content that can mislead people. Starting now, users who post AI-generated videos of an armed conflict—without adding a disclosure that it was made with AI—will be suspended from Creator Revenue Sharing for 90 days. Subsequent violations will result in a permanent suspension from the program. This will be flagged to us by any post with a Community Note or if the content contains meta data (or other signals) from generative AI tools. We will continue to refine our policies and product to ensure X can be trusted during these critical moments.

@nikitabier This is great. Lots of fake news out there and these AI videos look so realistic. Hard to tell what is real and what is fake these days.

After 10 years of building consumer social apps, I've decided to start exploring new areas. Building these products is an unforgiving grind—but I learned a lot along the way. For those embarking on this path, here's everything you need to know: TIME FOR A THREAD 👇

A junior said "Good morning" to me in the elevator. I checked my watch. It was 11:00 AM. I looked at him. "It's almost lunch," I said. "You're three hours late to the concept of morning." He tried to explain he'd been at his desk since 7. I interrupted and told him accuracy matters more than intent. I emailed his reviewer suggesting he take a CLE on time management. He apologized later. I didn't reply. I forwarded the apology to HR as proof of his inefficiency. Greetings are risky. He learned an important lesson. Never speak to a partner in the elevator. Unless spoken to.
